A Ukrainian woman who wishes to be a gestational carrier must meet the following minimum requirements per Ukraine law:
● She must be of legal age (over 21 years old)● She must have at least one child of her own● She must be physically and mentally prepared to carry and deliver a baby
InterContinental goes beyond the regulations for our surrogates:
● Medical visits – our medical coordinator will accompany gestational carrier to every medical visit, beginning with her first medical screening.● Psychological consultations – InterContinental is the only agency in Ukraine that has an in-house psychologist. Our surrogates meet with a licensed psychologist and a report will be provided to the intended parents. We take the additional step of providing psychological support to our surrogates throughout the pregnancy and after the delivery. ● Home-study – we carefully examine the surrogate’s living condition and surroundings, including interviewing everyone in her household.● Life insurance – a life insurance policy will be purchased for and provided to the surrogate, as an added level of assurance.● Fair compensation – our surrogates are compensated well above the average annual household income in Ukraine. These funds are paid incrementally throughout the pregnancy. At InterContinental we want you to be sure that your surrogate is receiving the full compensation, with no intermediaries, directly in US dollars via Western Union or through the surrogate’s bank account if she has one.
